A little bit about me:

Hello! I’m Alex—a lifelong learner, educator, and community builder whose passions have pulled me in many directions. If you knew me in high school or college, you’d remember someone who was always chasing the next challenge, the next idea, the next opportunity. I changed majors more than once, and even after six years at Western Michigan University, I hadn’t fully settled on a single path. But one thing was always clear: I’m passionate about leadership and education. Helping others reach their goals—even during times when I wasn’t sure of my own—gave me a deep sense of purpose. That drive didn’t come out of nowhere. I grew up the son of a teacher, immersed in the world of education from an early age. I saw firsthand how schools could be both flawed and extraordinary—places where students discover who they are and begin shaping who they’ll become. After six years of undergrad and a year and a half pursuing my master’s degree, I’ve found where I belong. Teaching high school has been profoundly rewarding. It feels like the culmination of years of hard work, reflection, and dedication. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else—at least for now. Still, I feel a growing pull toward something larger. As our education system and the very foundations of our society face increasing challenges, I find myself drawn to action. Someday, I hope to serve in a broader capacity. But for now, I’m focused on teaching, supporting my family, and continuing to build a life rooted in purpose, service, and hope.
